JOB DESCRIPTION:

To carry out a thorough analysis on how environmental rights/legislation is implemented in direct relation to law enforcement practice: realization of norms and principles of international law in the field of environmental protection at the national level; adaptation of national standards in accordance with norms and principles of international law in environmental protection sphere; ensuring the compatibility of practice in the field of implementation of environmental rights with the national legislation and relevant international treaties; contributing to the prevention of human rights violations in the field of environmental protection in the country.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carrying out comprehensive analysis of practice in the field of implementation of environmental rights, assessing on how environmental rights are implemented, providing recommendations; Analysis of the norms and principles of international law in the field of environmental rights and their implementation on national level; Analysis of the reports presented by the Republic of Armenia to the respective international and regional treaty bodies (in respect of environmental rights), as well as concluding observations in that regard; Holding consultations with the relevant authorities and relevant NGOs; Elaboration of a special report on the state of protection of environmental rights in the country.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Advanced University degree in law;
• A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in the field of law/law implementation, advocacy.
• Practice on legal proceedings and hearing on environmental case
• Knowledge of challenges and initiatives within the OSCE region, knowledge of environmental legislation, particularly the multilateral environmental agreements.
• Computer literate.

REMUNERATION/ SALARY: Grade could be indicated
